(Designated Safeguarding Lead)

Grade 8 (SCP 25-28)

37 hours per week

£29,577- £32,234 (FTE)

This will be pro-rata to term-time only plus 5 days (195 days)

Start date – as soon as possible.

The Directors of St Cuthbert’s RC Academy Trust have a great opportunity for an experienced and passionate Safeguarding Officer (DSL) to join our Trust and to lead on safeguarding within St Mary Queen of Martyrs Academy.

We are looking to appoint a Safeguarding Officer who is highly organised, emotionally resilient and able to prioritise a conflicting workload. The successful candidate will lead and work in partnership with academy staff, pupils, families and external agencies to ensure the effective implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures across the academy. Expectation would be to promote a culture of ongoing vigilance to protect and safeguard children across the school/academy and Trust.

As there is a requirement to visit and work at different locations, including visiting pupils/families in their home, you must be able to transport yourself efficiently to other sites.

The role will be part of a team whose core purpose is to safeguard the welfare of children and young people.
