Rhythm of Prayer
Taking time to encounter Jesus is at the heart of our daily life at St Mary’s. Our community comes together to reflect on faith, grow in spiritual understanding, and live out our belief that ‘with God, all things are possible.’ Shaped by the Church’s liturgical year and guided by Catholic Social Teaching and weekly themes, pupils and staff are nurtured to deepen their relationship with God and make a positive impact in the world.
Daily Prayers
Prepared by our Chaplaincy team and student leaders in the Catholic Life team, daily prayer resources offer meaningful opportunities for reflection across all year groups. Each morning, pupils and staff pause to pray through traditions such as Visio Divina and Lectio Divina, finding inspiration in scripture and the good works happening across our community.
Celebration of the Word
Celebration of the Word takes place weekly in form time across the school. Student leaders work alongside Chaplaincy to explore scripture, encouraging pupils to respond with practical actions and living mission in their everyday lives.
Assemblies
All school assemblies centre on our weekly theme, opening with prayer tied to our current Catholic Social Teaching focus. Each half term includes a dedicated assembly that explores these values deeply, helping students put the teachings of Jesus into active practice.
Sixth Form Reflect and Reset
Each week during form time, our Sixth Form students take dedicated time to pause, connect with God, and explore their faith. Guided by the weekly spiritual theme and teachings from Pope Francis, students are invited to step back from academic pressures, reflect deeply, and rest in the reassuring truth that "With God, all things are possible".
