At SM6 we are very proud of what our students’ achieve, not least their academic outcomes. Below you will find headlines for the key measures used to evaluate our academic performance against schools across the country.

Key Headlines

  • St Mary’s College remains ranked in the top 100 non-selective state schools in the country for student progress
  • Consistently rated in the top 10% of providers nationally (the top possible band of the ALPS performance system which evaluates post 16 provision) across a range of indicators including for ‘Quality & Breadth’
  • Number one performing Catholic school in the North of England
  • Number one ranked local state funded provider Post-16
  • At Post-16 our ‘value added’ and ‘points per entry’ across a range of qualifications are all well above national averages
  • 99.8% A Level pass rate and 100% pass rate across all Level 2 & 3 vocational programmes
  • 49% of all entries in 2018 achieved grades A*-A
  • 73% of all entries in 2018 achieved A*-B
