Academy of Music & Performing Arts

The Music and Performing Arts Academy courses cover a range of techniques that will prepare learners for successful progression routes into both Universities and Vocational Colleges

The Academy of Music & Performing Arts spans across all year groups and key stages, however, students on Performing Arts or Music courses at SM6 gain additional added benefits.

The Academy is both led and delivered by highly experienced practitioners who have worked tirelessly to provide a support programme to our students, to ensure incredible pastoral care and career progression opportunities.

We have created partnerships with many vocational colleges across the United Kingdom who travel each year to Hull and hold auditions for the sole purpose of SM6 students. Our reputation for superior training has travelled far and wide and we are attracting more institutes each year.

Our audition success currently stands at:

  • 100% of students received offers
  • 100% of students receive a scholarship offer

Furthermore in March 2021 we also celebrate Year 12 students who have secured places on a course in 2022, 18 months before their commencement.

On top of this, our students have also been awarded prestigious scholarships such as the ‘Ruthie Hensall Scholarship’ awarded through The CTC Foundation.

We are also able to provide a professional mentor to each of our students. These professionals are currently working within the industry, be this regional, national or international. Students are able to derive knowledge from these professionals, along with our teaching faculty to ascertain progression routes and audition material.

Students are also invited to work alongside our partnership with Duckegg Theatre and their Spotlight Agency panel.

Our Academy Alumni progress onto World Class University courses, Conservatoires and professional Vocational Colleges.
