World Class Schools Quality Mark (WCSQM) Student of the Month
18th March 2021
The virtual online ceremony replaces WCSQM’s traditional annual Awards Ceremony, last held in December 2019 at Lady Mitchell Hall, Cambridge University. While, like so many events worldwide, the format of this year’s ceremony may be different, WCSQM were determined that it should go ahead as a platform to celebrate and reward the World Class young people who despite the challenges they have faced, have shown incredible resilience, positivity and a willingness to adapt to change, in a way that gives us all hope for the future.
“Undoubtedly our young people have suffered negative effects from the pandemic that put them at risk of reduced life chances. However, we have been heartened and humbled by how our students around the world have thrived and flourished in these straitened times, because of their World Class characteristics. We are proud to celebrate their achievements and we hope that by sharing their stories they will inspire a generation of young people dedicated to becoming not just World Class students, but World Class citizens.”
Miranda Perry, Director, WCSQM
The ceremony celebrates school and student achievements across a range of different categories, including the announcement of the winners of the annual WCSQM essay writing competition, the winners of the WCSQM Lockdown Competition, and a celebration of the first ‘Students of the Month’, as part of WCSQM’s Student Character Campaign launched in January 2021. World Class schools, students and their families will be watching to celebrate their students’ / children’s achievements as we come to what we all hope will be the end of a long and difficult year of school closures and restrictions. We are also delighted that Moor End Academy Huddersfield has achieved WCSQM accreditation.
