St Mary’s College is seeking to appoint a science technician to join the highly successful Science Department which consistently obtains outstanding student results. The postholder will report to the Senior Science Technician who leads a committed team of 3 technicians who contribute to the success of the department. The department now have excellent new science classrooms and deliver a curriculum of biology, chemistry and physics up to A Level.

You will be responsible for the preparation of practical resources, including preparing solutions and setting up equipment and demonstrations to allow the safe delivery of practical aspects of the curriculum. You will also work closely with other members of the department to develop new practical activities and support the department with administration tasks. The ideal candidate will be organised, hardworking, have attention to detail, show initiative and be enthusiastic and committed to work in this high achieving science department.

You must have 5 GCSE’s at Grade C and above, including Maths and English and it is desirable that you have a degree in a science related subject.

St Cuthbert’s Roman Catholic Academy Trust are seeking to appoint an experienced, passionate, enthusiastic, caring and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our thriving and successful staff team.

It is essential that that the candidate has the knowledge and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

The candidate is required to hold the NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualifications and/or equivalent relevant experience.

The candidate is required to have a proven ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people.

The successful candidate must be able to encourage pupils to become independent learners and help to raise the standard of achievement and attainment for all pupils.  Working with the class teacher, they must be able recognise individual pupils’ needs in order to identify and implement appropriate responses, to support children in achieving their maximum potential.

The successful candidate will be able to inspire, motivate and engage children in the learning process.  They will have high expectations of behaviour and model good behaviour.  They must be committed to work as part of a team and be willing to participate fully in ensuring inclusion of all children.
